Annapurna - Food Program

Ensuring food security through community kitchens and food distribution programs.

About Annapurna

Named after the Hindu goddess of food and nourishment, our Annapurna program was started with a simple belief: no one should go to bed hungry. What began as a small initiative to feed homeless people has grown into a comprehensive food security program.

Our Approach

Community Kitchens

We operate 5 community kitchens that serve hot, nutritious meals to over 1,500 people daily. Our kitchens are:

  • Operated by local women's self-help groups
  • Using locally sourced, fresh ingredients
  • Following strict hygiene standards
  • Open to anyone in need, no questions asked

Monthly Grocery Distribution

We distribute grocery kits to 500 families every month, containing:

  • Rice, dal, and essential grains
  • Cooking oil and spices
  • Nutritional supplements for children

Special Programs

  • School Nutrition: Mid-day meals for children in government schools
  • Elderly Care: Home delivery of meals to senior citizens
  • Festival Meals: Special meal distribution during festivals

Cost of Feeding

  • ₹50 - One nutritious meal
  • ₹1,500 - One month of meals for a family of 4
  • ₹18,000 - One year of food security for a family

How You Can Help
